St. Paul, MN--The Minnesota Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC) will conduct a public hearing on the proposal to redistribute Independent Living funds and the development of new Independent Living Centers from 1 to 3 p.m., Thursday, August 17. The hearing will be held at the Minnesota Department of Economic Security's lower-level conference room, 390 North Robert Street, St. Paul.
The new state plan proposes to equally distribute federal Independent Living dollars, adopts criteria for distributing new state Independent Living dollars, establishes minimum and base-funding levels, and sets priorities for the opening of new Centers. Copies of the proposed plan will be mailed upon request and will be available at the public hearing site.
Individuals and organizations are welcome to present their views. Interpreters, formatted materials and other reasonable accommodations will be provided at the hearing upon request.
